Powerful disk defrag tool for NTFS and FAT32

Paragon Total Defrag is a powerful alternative to the default Windows defrag tool that works more smoothly and features more configuration options.

With this tool you can repair fragmented hard drives, both in NTFS and FAT32 systems. The defragging capabilities of Paragon Total Defrag include critical system files, paging files and registry keys, as well as the MFT (Master File Table). Also, the program doesn't require much free space on your hard drive, nor does it hog system resources.

Paragon Total Defrag offers information about the hard drive and includes the possibility to analyze the drive in search of possible errors. The program features two working modes, fast and safe. The safe one is obviously slower, but it also makes sure your data is safe.

What I found really annoying about this app is the fact that it requires system reboot for pretty much any operation, as manually disabling files doesn't work.

Paragon Total Defrag is a complete defragmenter for Windows that offers two defrag modes and repairs fragmented drives for an optimized performance.

PROS

  • Works with NTFS and FAT32
  • Can defrag the MFT
  • Includes information about the hard drive
  • Can scan the hard drive for errors

CONS

  • Requires constant boot-ups
  • A bit slow
